Deinonychus 1
The focus I had while drawing this picture is two-fold:
- a sort of art deco simplicity and
- the hint of anthropomorphic attributes in the posturing of the animal.
The folding of the front paws is a reminder how similar their hands are to our own. Much longer and more languid than ours and ending in enormous, razor-like claws, they have an almost feminine quality. Coupled with the complete lack of an opposable thumb or anything similar, we can see in the hands of the Deinonychus a perversion of our own.
