Deinonychus 2

This is another early ink sketch of a Deinonychus. That the animal’s form is not completely outlined makes it seem incomplete and transitory. The snout fades out of the environment to become a face and a neck, the neck becomes a leg, which becomes a tail, and fades back out into the environment again. The dinosaur, while having form, has no distinct shape, merely a loose and shaky union of abstract shapes. Its shapelessness makes it into more of a ghost that has momentarily manifested itself, but still cannot be precisely seen, merely hinted at, and, in a moment, is gone again.
