Design Philosophy and Services

Jun 25, 2009 at 10:46 AM

A background in fine art, illustration and animation has shaped my design philosophy into a basic rule: keep it simple. Visual elements can easily distract from the purpose and function of a page when they should only exist in the service of them.

I specialize in making efficient sites using php, Ruby on Rails, MySQL and css, with a focus on standards compliance. Whether you’re looking for an simple brochure site or a complex e-commerce site, dinocarl design can help you.

Little Stork needed a quick and efficient site to sell its hospital delivery bags. A yahoo small business web site was the answer, which provided the technology I needed to make all the tools the site needs to conduct its business. A frontend makeover completed in December 2009 added some usability upgrades as well as a more contemporary appearance.
